Ipsy Glam Bag (March 2017 Review)

Today, I am reviewing my March Ipsy Glam Bag. If you aren't familiar with Ipsy...Each month, for $10, I am sent a personalized bag filled with beauty products!

After, arriving home from a month in California, my February and March glam bags were waiting for me to open them. I was really happy with my March bag.

This month, the bag was bigger than usual. Perfect for throwing in my purse!

 1. Doucce

Freematic Eyeshadow in Marisa

This eyeshadow comes in a personalized palette of 4 for $35.00

I happen to love anything rose gold and this has a pretty shimmer which I really liked.
It is suggested to be used for a dual purpose. You can use this as an eyeliner as well, and I am excited to try that out.
The color builds up, so you can leave it subtle, or go for something more vivid.

2. Tarte cosmetics
tarteist™ quick dry matte lip paint in rosé

Full size retails for $20.00

I love Tarte. Their products are of good quality and seem to really last me a while. I'm picky about lipstick shades, but love this color. The applicator makes it go on very smoothly and it dries almost instantly.

3. Beau Gâchis
Tapered Blending Brush
Retails for $12.00

A girl can never have too many brushes, right? I always look forward to getting a new makeup brush in my Ipsy bag each month. The bristles are very soft. I used this brush to blend in my eyeshadow, but it can be used to highlight your cheekbones, or contour your nose.

4. Air Repair Skincare
Complexion-Boosting Moisturizer

Full size retails for about $17.50

I travel a lot and so smaller items that I can easily pack always come in handy. I was just saying how I wanted to try a new moisturizer and then came home to this! So far, I am really enjoying this. It is lightweight and hydrating. I can use this before I put makeup on, since it absorbs pretty quickly.

5. Chella
Eyebrow Highlighter Pencil in Ivory Lace

Retails for $18.00

When I saw this product, I was excited to try it out. I immediately thought to apply it above the brow bone. This is a multi purpose pencil, which means you can also use it to cover up a blemish, as an under eye concealer, etc. The pencil is very creamy and a little goes a long way. This product is definitely going into my makeup bag!

Ipsy Glam Bag (June 2016 Review)

Today, I am reviewing my June Ipsy Glam Bag. This is my third month receiving a bag (you can read my April Ipsy Glam Bag Review by clicking here). Each month, for $10, I am sent a personalized bag filled with beauty products!

From the moment, I opened my package I couldn't wait to try out all my new goodies! The bag itself, is so cute and can be used to hold cosmetic products in your purse (which is what I sometimes do).

1. ColourPop Cosmetics -
Creme Gel Liner in Get Paid
    Retails for $5.00

ColourPop Cosmetics is one of my favorite brands. I'm generally picky about my eyeliners and eyeshadows, as I have very sensitive eyes, but their products have never caused me any problems! I own two other eyeliners by them, but this was a unique color, that I was really looking forward to trying. The liner, goes on smoothly and has a really pretty metallic finish. Colourpop is also cruelty free and has a lot of vegan products.

2. theBalm Cosmetics -
Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz
This is one color in a palette (with nine total colors) that retails for $42.00

You might recall, I mentioned that their highlighter (Mary-Lou Manizer) was on my wishlist. I have been wanting to try a lot of their products and was excited to receive this eyeshadow. They are also a paraben and cruelty-free brand.

Their packaging and design are really nice! Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eyeshadow in Matt Moskowitz, is a deep plum and is very pigmented. I've been blending this shade with a shimmery brown and the combo is just stunning.

3. Delectable by Cake Beauty -
    Everything Balm
I was given a sample size. The full size retails for $16.00

When I first saw this product, I wasn't quite sure what it was to be used for. I ended up looking online to figure out just what it did. And it does just what it says - everything! It's a clear balm (a little like Vaseline) and some of the suggested uses are for moisturizing lips, adding highlight to cheeks, sealing split ends, and softening skin, etc. I definitely recommend this product (and especially because I have it in a trial size, it easily fits inside my purse)!

This product is cruelty free and vegan.

4. Seraphine Botanicals -
    Happy Hibiscus Blush
    Retails for $18.00

Seraphine Botanicals is known for being cruelty free and vegan, so I was thrilled to be receiving this item. I had not tried any of their products before, but just the packaging was enough to get me excited. The blush is intended for all skin tones and on the back of the box, there is a little bunny graphic that says they do not test on animals and that makes me love it all the more. I tend to go for lighter, pink blushes because I have such fair skin, but this product surprised me. It's a sheer rose that has a nice shimmering highlight. It only took one swipe for a pigmented color that lasted all day. I applied it with an Ecotools blush brush.

5. Soap & Glory -
Face Soap And Clarity 3-in-1 Daily Detox Vitamin C Facial       Wash
I was given a sample size. The full size retails for $12.00

I have been familiar with the British brand, Soap & Glory for a while. About a week ago, a friend texted me to let me know their products were now available at Ulta, and then a few days later I received this in my Ipsy Glam Bag.

The packaging of their products are really fun and have a retro vibe. It smells amazing, which is always a plus! I originally thought that this product might contain microbeads, but the company is cruelty free and no longer uses microbeads in their products. Instead they use a biodegradable wax bead. I have only used this face wash once, but I really liked it. It has a thin, serum like consistency and left my skin feeling fresh.

This Ipsy Glam Bag has been my favorite to date. All the products were cruelty free and I now have some new products to add to my birthday wishlist. :P

My First Ipsy Glam Bag (April 2016 Review)

Happy Monday! This week is a review on Ipsy's Glam Bag!

I've been wanting to try a beauty subscription box for a long time...and I finally decided that time was now. I signed up for Ipsy (one of the more well known subscription choices). I also signed up for Petit Vour, which is a cruelty free and vegan box. I'll make a post about that box, when I receive it.

For only ten dollars (free shipping), I figured I had very little to lose. Once my payment was confirmed, I took a quiz that helped determine what products would be sent to me.

I was put on a waiting list - One thing that I didn't love about Ipsy, is that all over their website and in emails, they tell you that you can skip the wait list or receive early access to see what's in your bag....But - the catch is that you must promote Ipsy on all of your social media accounts...

They ask you to send their link to Facebook friends, follow all their official accounts, etc. Thankfully, unlike many stories I have heard, I only had to wait a month. 🙏🏻

I went to the mailbox a few days ago and was happy to discover a shiny pink package with my name on it. When I opened it, I found a cute, little cosmetic bag with all my surprise goodies inside.

There are two opportunities ahead of time to figure out what you will be receiving. The first is before the packages are shipped. You can find out all the products for the month...(They send out different variations of their bag each month). They'll want you to promote them on social media to get "early access."  The second, is a couple days before your Glam Bag arrives, you can log in to your account and see what items you specifically will be receiving. I personally like the element of surprise.

Here are the products I was given in my Glam Bag this month:

1. Tarte Cosmetics -

LipSurgence™ lip crème in wonder

Retails for $24

I've liked the brand for a while because they're known for having cruelty free and vegan products. I wasn't sure if I would love the color, but I ended up liking it. If I were buying it myself, I'd probably choose a different shade, but I will definitely use this lip color. It went on easily and has a very moisturizing feeling. Nice and creamy. It didn't require much touch up. I also have been sick the past week and my lips were chapped...Usually that's a recipe for disaster, but after the application, it looked smooth and you couldn't even tell my lips were chapped. No flaking!

2. Starlooks -
Creme Eye Shadow in Rose Gold

I love metallic colors and was super excited to try this eyeshadow. It was easy to apply using just the wand it came with and dried fairly fast. This was my favorite item in my Ipsy Glam Bag!

3. Crown Brush-
C427 Duo Fiber Blush Brush
Retails for $23.73...on sale for $9.49

I was happy to find that I received a makeup brush. I love trying new brushes. This particular brush is used for blush and highlighter.

The bristles are very soft and the handle has a great grip. I would love to receive brushes quite often from Ipsy!

4. Moroccanoil
(This was a sample size)

I love using argan oil. I'm familiar with this brand, but hadn't tried it before.

It has a really wonderful smell and helps to make hair softer and tame frizz.

5. Jor'el Parker -

Fango Face Mask

(This also was a sample size)

I haven't tried this product yet...but I'm looking forward to it. The company is cruelty free and vegan. This face mask is made with almond oil, avocado oil, green tea and volcanic ash minerals. It can also be used on your body.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend Ipsy. You get far more than $10.00 in value and who doesn't want to try new products?
