Yom Kippur Resolutions 5780/2019

Today, is Yom Kippur, a Jewish holiday, known as the day of atonement. It is the holiest day of the year, a time to reflect. It’s a time to make amends; apologize for our actions and promise to do better in the coming year.
Each year, at this time, I think to myself how the year was full of many experiences that taught me life lessons. At times things occurring didn’t make sense, but it’s all led me to be where I am right now.
I am making a conscious choice to let go of anything that does not serve me. Each of us are on a different life path. What is true for us today, may no longer be tomorrow. What is right for us, may not be for someone else. We are constantly evolving and changing and that’s a beautiful part of life.

As I move forward and into this new year, I wrote a list of resolutions; goals for the person I'd like to become.

Here are some of my resolutions for the year 5780...

  • Blog more often - I want to inspire others and create more content.

  • Read - I want to challenge myself to read at least one book a month. I love learning new things and delving deeper into topics that interest me.

  • Exercise more regularly - I seem to create great habits when it comes to exercise, but due to my life not having a consistent regimen, I end up not sticking with it.

  • To surround myself with people who bring out the best in me (and vice versa) and truly have my best interest at heart - One of my mantras is the quote, "Energy flows where attention goes." I’m human, so I’ll at times notice myself falling into patterns of gossip, depending on the people around me. I really want to be more conscious of the energy in my space and what I am focusing on. I’ve also in the past year, learned who is in my life just for ME...and not for any other other motive.

  • Connect more to G-d and source - I feel so much more balanced when I listen to my intuition and connect to both my higher self and my faith.

  • Take time for me - I’m a giver by nature. A nurturer. I feel my soul calling is to help people. The truth of the matter is, I’ll do it to my detriment. I’m still learning how to be there for others, and be there for myself just as much. A dear friend posed this question to me; “If you devoted even half the energy you give unto others to yourself, where would you be in your life?” It really got me thinking.
  • Travel to new places - Traveling brings me so much joy and is truly one of the loves of my life.

In the coming year, I strive to be the best I can be, love myself unconditionally, and always count my blessings...I have so much to be grateful for.

I pray for peace, understanding and lots of love for one another, as we move forward...

Gmar Chatimah Tova! May you be inscribed in the book of life.

We have 84 days left until 2020 - What is something you'd like to accomplish?

Hello 2017...I'm Ready For You!

Happy 2017! - That's going to take some getting used to! :P

Many of us, see the new year as a time to make resolutions. If we are being honest, often, we do not end up following through with them.

Before we can begin focusing on the present, and manifesting for our future, we need to be able to let go of what isn't serving us and reflect.

2016 had many eventful moments. I reflected upon on the past twelve months. I thought about what I want to leave behind and what I want to create during this year.

A great exercise to declutter your mind (from what has been weighing you down), is to make a list of emotions, people, habits, etc that you want to release. Next, list your accomplishments and the positive things that have happened in the past year. You can also put this in the form of a letter.

Now, it's time to to rewrite your story. How do you envision yourself in the upcoming year?
It's time to write yourself a "love" letter. Date this letter one year into the future. Take all you envisioned and act as if it has already occurred. Talk about your achievements and what you were proud of.

Remember to be as clear as possible. By creating clarity in our goals, we send a powerful message out into the universe.

Here are some of the things that I want to be a part of my 2017:

  • Meditate more frequently- I have gotten away from daily meditation and I find that when I meditate, it makes me feel more whole and balanced.

  • Travel to new places - New York, Georgia, and  Alabama are on my list.

  • Graduate from the nutrition program I am enrolled in and begin coaching clients.

  • Continue to evolve spiritually - Follow the path I've been taking toward self-love, discover more about my truth, and immerse myself in spiritual teachings and readings to gain better insight.

  • Increase my daily water consumption, which will help alleviate inflammation.

One of my usual resolutions or goals is to journal more. While, that still may be true, this year I have decided to do something different. I'm going to create a memory jar. Each day, I will  place a note in the jar. These notes may be about accomplishments, gratitude, new experiences, or anything else that I may want to reflect upon.

I'd love to hear about your goals and what you want to accomplish this year.

Each day, is a new beginning, full of endless possibilities. Start creating! I know this year is going to be full of lots wonderful and magical things.

Yom Kippur Resolutions 5777/2016

Yom Kippur...Known as the day of atonement. I reflect on the past year and consider it a time to do a spiritual cleansing. I love this holiday; it's not just a time to right wrongs and vow to change, it's a time to become more aware. To learn what is working and what isn't. To start creating new habits. Unlike the typical January 1st resolutions, these are more spiritually based.

Today, I'm looking inward and seeing what doesn't serve me and what I want to create for myself in the upcoming year.

In the year 5777, I will....

  • Let go - Find the silver lining each day

  • Stay present and be more mindful

  • Listen to my intuition

  • Continue on my current path of self discovery

  • Find joy in the little things

  • Reconnect to G-D and source.

In the coming year, I will count my blessings and remember how grateful I am. I will let my light shine and radiate love and positivity.

I pray for peace and compassion as we enter this new year.

Gmar Chatimah Tova! May you be inscribed in the book of life. ❤

New Year, New You!

Instead of making New Year's resolutions, I've created a vision board with what I want to manifest for this upcoming year.

Have you noticed that a lot of your resolutions are the same year after year? When you write down goals or habits to incorporate, they're typically different. You intend to achieve a goal or to obtain a new skill. You're moving forward.

A vision board is a collage with words and pictures that represent your goals and dreams. To create your vision board, start with a theme. The theme can be a word or phrase to describe your intention. I chose balance.

You can include anything that inspires you. Think about your goals for the upcoming year in regards to your personal growth, relationships, career, anything you want to see grow & change.

It's best to hand write your intentions. The physical act of writing, stimulates your brain. You are welcome to type these goals as well, but for your vision board it is preferred if they're written out. Your intentions will be more impactful.

The more personal your vision board is, the more likely you will be to stay with your goals and actually attain them.

When you're thinking about the new year, think about what make your heart light up. What you get excited about. Make those your goals, but balance them with things that you know need to be accomplished.

Your goals and your vision board are your friends. They shouldn't be looked upon as a grueling list of tasks that you are dreading. Hang your vision board where you will see it daily.

Remember to enjoy the process! Make this year about creating the best version of yourself and achieving that which will make you happy, proud, and fulfilled!

If you end up making a vision board, I'd love to see it.

Also, if you'd like to follow my blog, all you have to do is go the top right hand corner of the page and type in your email. If you're on a mobile device, change to the desktop/web version.
You can also just give me your email, and I'll sign you up myself. :)

I now have an email dedicated to this blog : TheZenFashionista@Gmail.Com

Happy new year!
