Yom Kippur Resolutions 5779/2018

Today, is Yom Kippur, a Jewish holiday, which is known as the day of atonement. It is the holiest day of the year, a time to reflect. For me, it's about much more than just apologizing for our actions and promising to do our best to change our ways, but it's a spiritual cleansing.
I've had quite the year...and there is nothing I would change from it, because it's all led me to exactly where I am right now. Sure, there were some messy moments, but I took something from each interaction and experience.
I am choosing to let go of what does not serve me any longer. We are all on different life paths. What holds true for us today, may no longer tomorrow. What is right for us, may not be for someone else. We are constantly evolving and that is OK. As I move forward and into this new year, I wrote a list of resolutions; goals for the person I'd like to become.

Here are some of my resolutions for the year 5779...

  • Speak up - For so long, I thought it was better to keep quiet. If someone upset me, it was better to let it be...I wanted to avoid conflict. This year I have spoken my truth and used my voice. It's empowering. It also has made others close to me uncomfortable, and that has been hard, but I know that everyone in our life is there to serve a purpose. Sometimes, when we start vibrating at a higher frequency, it no longer matches the energy of people around us. It's up to us to recognize that and let go. And in some instances people just fade away.
  • To surround myself with people who bring out the best in me (and vice versa) - One of my mantras is the quote, "Energy flows where attention goes." I've noticed myself at times falling into patterns of gossip, depending on the people around me. I really want to be more conscious of the energy in my space and what I am focusing on.
  • Connect more to G-d and source - I feel so much more balanced when I listen to my intuition and connect to both my higher self and my faith.
  • Tap into my creative side - I'm excited to be delving back into studying fashion. And want to take some drawing classes.
  • Blog more frequently - I want to create more content. I have a lot of ideas and feel inspired to post on a variety of topics.

In the coming year, I strive to be the best I can be, love myself unconditionally, and always count my blessings...I have so much to be grateful for.

I pray for peace, understanding and lots of love for one another, as we move forward...

Gmar Chatimah Tova! May you be inscribed in the book of life. ❤

We have 105 days left until 2019 - What is something you'd like to accomplish?

Hello 2017...I'm Ready For You!

Happy 2017! - That's going to take some getting used to! :P

Many of us, see the new year as a time to make resolutions. If we are being honest, often, we do not end up following through with them.

Before we can begin focusing on the present, and manifesting for our future, we need to be able to let go of what isn't serving us and reflect.

2016 had many eventful moments. I reflected upon on the past twelve months. I thought about what I want to leave behind and what I want to create during this year.

A great exercise to declutter your mind (from what has been weighing you down), is to make a list of emotions, people, habits, etc that you want to release. Next, list your accomplishments and the positive things that have happened in the past year. You can also put this in the form of a letter.

Now, it's time to to rewrite your story. How do you envision yourself in the upcoming year?
It's time to write yourself a "love" letter. Date this letter one year into the future. Take all you envisioned and act as if it has already occurred. Talk about your achievements and what you were proud of.

Remember to be as clear as possible. By creating clarity in our goals, we send a powerful message out into the universe.

Here are some of the things that I want to be a part of my 2017:

  • Meditate more frequently- I have gotten away from daily meditation and I find that when I meditate, it makes me feel more whole and balanced.

  • Travel to new places - New York, Georgia, and  Alabama are on my list.

  • Graduate from the nutrition program I am enrolled in and begin coaching clients.

  • Continue to evolve spiritually - Follow the path I've been taking toward self-love, discover more about my truth, and immerse myself in spiritual teachings and readings to gain better insight.

  • Increase my daily water consumption, which will help alleviate inflammation.

One of my usual resolutions or goals is to journal more. While, that still may be true, this year I have decided to do something different. I'm going to create a memory jar. Each day, I will  place a note in the jar. These notes may be about accomplishments, gratitude, new experiences, or anything else that I may want to reflect upon.

I'd love to hear about your goals and what you want to accomplish this year.

Each day, is a new beginning, full of endless possibilities. Start creating! I know this year is going to be full of lots wonderful and magical things.

My 2016 In Review

I can't believe that 2016 is almost over, but I am excited for the New Year to begin. I have a really good feeling about what's to come.

This year has been full of surprises; both good and bad, travel, creativity, new friends, etc.

Here is a photo journey of my year!

One of my objectives for 2016, was that I wanted to be sent products to review for my blog. I connected with a girl on Etsy, who loved my blog and sent me a few of her products.

I experimented with color in my hair!

I saw Bonnie Raitt in concert.

I got to interview and spend time with one of my role models, Alana Stewart. What a sweetheart she is!

I met Paula Abdul and had the opportunity to express how she has inspired me.

I took a fashion course through Parsons School of Design and became a certified fashion stylist.

I turned 21 and had a psychedelic Mad Hatter tea party.

I went to L.A. on a birthday trip this summer.

I saw Rod Stewart and Mariah Carey in concert.

Listened to Sophia Loren talk about her life.

Enjoyed my favorite season, which is fall. I went to the pumpkin patch, the cider mill, etc.

Had the pleasure of traveling to Las Vegas and Denver to spend time with some of my favorite people.

Flew to Portland and took a ferry to Seattle

For Halloween, I was Fran Fine from the TV show, "The Nanny" :)

Voted in my first election!

Saw one of my favorite musicians, Stevie Nicks, in concert!

My favorite pictures of myself from the year:

Looking back on my year...I took some questions from Into-Mind's blog and answered them below.

What was one new skill you learned?

How to sew

What was a lesson you learned?

To make my well-being a priority

What new habits did you cultivate?

Waking up earlier

Did you accomplish your goals?

I took a look at my vision board for 2016, and I did accomplish almost everything I set out to do. I am looking forward to creating a new vision board for 2017.
