A View Into The Future: Creating My Path

Happy Monday!

The past eight months have been some of the most interesting, thought provoking, challenging and rewarding times of my life. I was planning to have this week's blog be about my adventures in California...But I wanted to write something else today.

I was looking at a few of my older blogs, that talked about goals and visions for my future. We are almost 100 days into 2017 and so I thought I would take a moment to reflect. I leave for the airport Tuesday morning...Another journey awaits me.

As this new year began, I wanted to make sure to set the intention and goal to continue evolving on my spiritual path. I wanted this year to be about me. In the past, I always put others before myself...I would sacrifice my own well-being, if it meant I was helping someone else. I would set up boundaries, only to cave and appease others. While, I'll still go the extra mile, I have been listening to my wants, my needs and desires and focusing on self-care.

In September, I had the opportunity to finally go to a CSL (Center for Spiritual Living) service (in Las Vegas). CSL is a non-denominational, spiritual center that embraces anyone regardless of their religious beliefs, sexuality, etc. Everyone comes together to grow and transform and love and to make the world a better place. I felt so at home and welcome and got to attend another service a few weeks ago while in Los Angeles. This has been a blessing to have discovered and I have met some lovely people through it.

I am sure most of you have heard the quote, "You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with." It's really so true! With that being said, I want to surround myself with a great group of people, a tribe, if you will. I have been blessed with some wonderful people in my life, who are like minded. They are empowering, driven, spiritual, change-makers, and such positive forces in the world. That is what I want more of. I want my energy to be spent with people like that and less around negativity and drama and toxicity.

When I started my blog, a year and a half ago, I had no idea what it was to become. I wanted it to be a place where I could share my passions, knowledge, etc to the world. I was rereading an email from a close friend and mentor of mine that said while my posts are worthwhile and meaningful, that I could also use them as a platform and go deeper. I am a healer and have so much to convey. She's right. I want to write more spiritually based posts and talk about health and wellness. Whenever, I have posted about a meditation or on creating goals, etc, I have received a lot of great feedback. So, what is stopping me from creating more content like that? The only answer I could come up with was FEAR. What really is fear? Fear is just false evidence appearing real. And what do I have to fear? The unknown? Of putting myself out there? Time to get out of my comfort zone...It's ok to be uncomfortable. Free myself of limiting beliefs!

The universe is so amazing! I truly believe in the law of attraction and manifestation...And as I continue on this spiritual journey of self discovery, here's to creating abundance and welcoming infinite possibilities.

What is something that you can do this week, to break out of your comfort zone?

  2. Lauren, This is so well written. Here is my recent problem: I used and loved the Lauren Hutton disc of makeup. She stopped making her wonderful disc of makeup. Maybe, you could find out who made them for her so, I could buy them again...

  7. I'm glad you've decided to break out of your comfort zone and start writing things you think will have more of an impact on your audience. It's true - if you're a blogger with readers, then you have a platform, and you owe it to yourself to really use it!

  12. I think we all reach that point where we realize that we have SO much more to give and once we realize what it is exactly that's stopping us, only then can we move forward. I have found it hard sometimes to break out of the mold but once I did, it felt so much better!

  23. Such an interesting reflection. I always pause and look back end of the year. But your way of pausing almost midway through and adding a reflection really impresses me. I feel empty, confused and insecure at times. My family and my travel helps me in those moments to pull through
